Values

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Below find an excellent values clarification exercise that is designed to help you in the process of putting together your personal mission statement.

To me values means, “What are you willing to live for?” Values, helping your words and your actions to be one.

In last week’s blog you identified what you don’t want in your life and what you do want. This week you’re going to clarify your values to drive deeper your passions and your commitments to your self.

Simply follow the instructions:

Know Yourself

Not everything can be equally important. Review the personal values below and identify the 8 to 10 that are most important to you. Put an “X” in the “most important” column. Identify 8 to 10 least important, and mark with an “X.” Then mark the remainder with an “X” in the “medium importance” column.
Now, rank your top five most important values.
Be sure to rank your top five! Next blog I’ll show you how to align your top five values with the top five things that you want in your life, and then we’ll identify and start to eliminate any obstacles in your way.
